Farm Fresh Egg
We have 36 hens that are laying now – 3 Barred Rocks and 33 Rhode Island Reds. We have 100 more Rhode Island Reds that will be laying by early summer. Each hen gives 5-6 eggs a week during the longer days of spring and summer.

We are using the cow barn as a temporary shelter as well as an 8×16 movable shelter with electric poultry netting. The hens free range through the day and roost in their predator proof pens at night. They love garden and kitchen scraps, cracked corn and Purina Layena Sun Fresh Recipe. This is one of the best feed products and uses no animal by products. Our goal is to eventually grow our own organic grains. We can choose the type of grain and have better control of how it’s grown.
